Kos Lugakingira, Public Relations +
Kos’s career in dentistry started with the front office and later advanced to head Pediatric dental assistant in the operating room. She is currently responsible for public relations, marketing, and promotion at Fort Wayne Oral Maxillofacial Surgery and Implant Center. She enjoys working with the entire staff and doctors. Kos was raised in Nashville, Tennessee. She and Dr. Lugakingira are parents of three children.
Of the many tasks she has, Kos is an active member of Alliance of the Isaac Knapp District Dental Society in Fort Wayne and served as the President in 2015-2016. She is currently a member of its board of directors. She is also a board member of the Alliance of the Indiana Dental Association (IDA). She is also very involved with the Indiana Organ Donors Network and facilitates to organize its annual 5K. She is on the committee for Cinderella Dress Day with the Fort Wayne Medical Society Alliance. Kos received the ADA Beulah K. Spencer award in 2016 for Distinguished Service. As the Alliance president Kos was able to organize a mixer between the Dental and Medical Society Alliance, first in over 40 years.
In 2015, Kos and her husband Mulokozi began fulfilling their long awaited dream and started a foundation “Kagera Advancement Inc. (KAI).” It is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organized under the Indiana state law. Its sole purpose is to help and advance education and healthcare in Katale Village in Tanzania, and later here locally in Fort Wayne. I have been working in the oral surgery field since 1988 as a dental receptionist and insurance coordinator. I feel very blessed to be working with Dr. Lugakingira because of their personal touch and quality of care. I am very thankful to be part of a team that treats patients with kindness and respect. I enjoy working with people and especially have a passion to ensure everyone receives their maximum insurance benefit. I have been in the dental field since 2012 when I graduated from IPFW as a Certified Dental Assistant. I am DAANCE (Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification Examination) certified. I enjoy what I do. The new team that I joined in December 2016 is fun and thorough. I am a member of DANB and ADA. My favorite part of my job is the variety of procedures we perform. In my spare time I enjoy working out and spending time with my family.

I always knew I wanted to work in the oral surgery field ever since I graduated from IPFW as a Certified Dental Assistant and earned my EFDA in 2016. I love the challenge as well as the reward that goes along with working in oral surgery, and I love making our patients feel right at home in our office. I also love the continuing advancement in dental technology. In addition to being a surgical assistant, I’m also involved in the planning and 3D printing of our implant surgical guides. I feel very blessed to be a part of such a thorough team!
In my free time, I love cooking, being outdoors, and spending time at the lake with my husband and our goldendoodle, Waylon.

I grew up in Fort Wayne, graduated from Blackhawk Christian School, and then graduated from Dental Assisting, IPFW. I worked in oral surgery for a few years and then worked many years in orthodontics. While I loved ortho, I have come back to oral surgery for the fast pace and daily variety you find in oral surgery. I am married and have two beautiful daughters. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family, relaxing at the beach, watching movies, and reading.

I was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I graduated from Bishop Dwenger High School in 1980 and then graduated with my Certificate in Dental Assisting from IPFW in 1983. I loved Oral Surgery when doing rotations in school, and I knew it was exactly what I wanted to do. I have now worked in Oral Surgery for 39 years. I really like the fast pace and most of all trying to put patients at ease when they come in for their surgery.
Watching the quality of care Dr. Lugakingira gives every single patient never ceases to amaze me, and gives me a sense of great pride to work for him and his team.
I have been married for 36 years, have 3 daughters and 4 grandchildren. My husband and I love spending time with them. We also enjoy Soccer, exercising, spending time with our “buddy group” each Wednesday, and riding the Goldwing.
